Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do your guitars have a soundwell?
A: No. The cone rests on a top brace that is supported by six posts connected to the back braces.

Q: What type of cones do you use?
A: I use Quarterman cones.

Q: Do your guitars sound like a Scheerhorn?
A: No. The only guitar that sounds like a Scheerhorn is a Scheerhorn. The same is true for
every custom guitar. My guitars have a presence(projection, volume) similar to an L-body

Q: What is a baffle?
A: Baffle (courtesy of dictionary.com)
v. To impede the force or movement of.
n. A partition that prevents interference between sound waves in a loudspeaker.

While the second definition could be applied to some of today's modern Resophonic guitars, the first is probably more applicable to my instruments. The baffle simply acts as a means to control the movement of air (sound) within the body of the instrument. Specifically, it directs the airflow towards the ports or f-holes.

Q: How do I get on your order list?
A: Due to limited production, we're currently not accepting new orders. Relocation to a new facility should be completed by the end of 2006.

Q: How long will it take to get one of your instruments?
A:The current wait is ~ 24 months.
